As an artist, Johnny has connected many people to beautiful North Carolina coastal sunsets and rich mountain landscapes and brought together people for their love of his art.
Johnny's photographic eye has captured stunning landscapes that have been appreciated by many across the continental United States. His work has been displayed in several area galleries, including the Franklin Square Gallery in Southport, North Carolina, and the Artist Gallery in Greensboro, North Carolina.
He has taught in various locations around the Triad, including assisted living facilities, the Franklin Square Gallery, and the local recreation department in Brunswick County. Additionally, Johnny has conducted several workshops focusing on his favorite medium, watercolor, and a technique called pouring. His training and education began at Serendipity Art School in Greensboro, where he studied alongside renowned artists like Sterling Edwards, Linda Baker, and Jeremy Sams.

Currently, Johnny is exploring plein-air painting, a technique he learned from Jeremy Sams. This style allows him to paint on-site outdoors, immersing himself in nature and his surroundings.
